Café/History: Druids and Healers in Brittany

October 1 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Thursday, October 1 at 6:30 pm

In partnership with the Musée de Bretagne
Champs Libres Café
By Bernard Rio

Who were the ancient Druids, and who are the Neo-Druids of today?

Since the 18th century, these Celtic forces have been intriguing poets, historians and archeologists whose attempts to unravel the mystery around their pagan practices and oral learnings have proven relatively futile.
A full-fledged form of literature, both imaginable and yet incomprehensible, has emerged based on their mere existence. This encounter sheds light on these erudite elders from times past, thinkers and doctors, astrologists and architects, poets and magicians, as well as on the sacred sites where their druidic rituals took place.
Journalist and author, Bernard Rio specializes in heritage. In addition to his 60+ written works and numerous studies, he works regularly with the trade press (Historia, Mythologie(s), etc.) on the topics of nature, history and traditions.
