SCHOOL Program
The festival Court Métrange involves students from 11 to 15, 15 to 18, apprentices, literature and language teachers and documentalists. This year ALL STUDENTS AND APPRENTICES WILL BE VOTING FOR THE FILM OF THEIR CHOICE at the end of the projection. This 6th edition of the European festival of Fantastique and Etrange short films offers 10 projection sessions for schools from 19 to 23 October 2009.
They will take place at the Ciné TNB (Rennes)

11-15 year old Program / 16-18 year old Program
Projection time for 11-15 year old :
- Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 October 11 AM
- Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October 9.30 AM
Projection time for 16-18 year old :
- Monday 19, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 October 9.30 AM
- Thursday 22 and Friday 23 October 11 AM
School projections will last 70 mn
Ticket price/student : € 3.80
Attention : Ciné TNB will emit the invoice to schools.
Schools' prize will be given at the closing night, Sunday 25 October at 6 PM Ciné TNB. Every student can attend to the festival prize night and will benefit from a discount € 4 (initial price € 6).
Critique sur court
A writing competition for schools is organized during the festival :
CRITIQUE SUR COURT, Write your own review about a projection
Each student attending to Programs for schools can participate to the competition (languages available for this competition: French, English, Spanish or German).
Terms & Conditions of the competition
- This competition is involving students attending to the short film projection offered during the school sessions of the festival Court Métrange.
- Every participant is welcomed to write a review about one of the short films of his/her choice.
- Each text has to be written individually and has to use what has been taught during the class. It consists in writing a simple and argumented review about the relevance of the movie and the author's filming process.
- The review can be written in French, English, Spanish or German.
- The article will have to:
- contain a title different from the chosen short film
- be 2,000 maximum signs long (should it be a letter, each punctuation sign is printing character)
- quote the title of the short film and the name of its director
- be posted in 2 copies
- Reviews will be sent in 2 copies : at the back of the first copy, please mention: name and surname of the student, his/her class and contact information of his/her school. the other copy will have to be anonymous.

- Reviews will be selected by a jury of professionals, journalists and teachers.
- The winners of « Critique sur Court » will be informed of the date of the prize ceremony by mail in January 2010. Their reviews will be published in a cinema magazine L’Ecran Fantastique and put online on "Arts, sciences et culture" section of the educative space of the Academy's website.
Offers for teachers :
- In collaboration with the festival Court Métrange, the new DVDRom «Aspects du cinéma fantastique» of the CRDP includes 6 license-free Fantastique short films, 7 film analysis and help note sheets that can be used by teachers. Release date: September 2009. Price: € 29.

- The association Unis Vers Sept Arrivécan send a professional analyst to help students writing reviews during November 2009. Price of the intervention €40 / hour to schools interested by the offer.
